Since winning the British Contemporary Piano Competition in 2000, Sarah has become an established pianist at the forefront of the new music scene and one of the leading performers of her generation. Over the last twelve months she has given a huge variety of performances including her solo debuts at the Wigmore Hall and St John's Smith Square; a recital at the 2003 Bath International Festival Rising Stars Series; her own multimedia show at the Purcell Room in the ‘Fresh’ series; and performances in Austria, Portugal and Holland. Most recently she gave the UK premiere of Luciano Berio’s Piano Sonata, his largest work for solo piano, written in 2001. She has broadcast on Radio 3 several times and was described after her South Bank debut in 2001 by The Times as ‘a wonderful inspiration for and champion of new music.’
Sarah studied at Chetham’s School of Music; King’s College, London and the Royal Academy of Music - with Piers Lane; and the Guildhall School of Music - with Paul Roberts and Andrew Ball. Sarah is a teacher at the Royal Academy of Music Junior Department and has given seminars on contemporary piano music and writing for the piano at universities and music schools throughout Britain.
